The TPS22929D is a small, ultra-low rON load switch with controlled turn-on. The device includes a P-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) that operates over an input voltage range of 1.4V to 5.5V. The switch is controlled by an on/off input (ON), which can be directly interfaced with a low voltage control signal. The TPS22929D is active high. The TPS22929D includes a 150Ω on-chip load resistor for fast output discharge when the switch is turned off. The rise time of this device is internally controlled to avoid inrush current. The TPS22929D device provides a circuit breaker function by latching the power switch in the event of reverse voltage. When the output voltage (VOUT) is driven higher than the input (VIN), an internal reverse voltage comparator turns off the power switch to quickly (10µs typical) prevent current flow to the input side of the switch. Reverse current is always active, even when the power switch is off. Additionally, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) protection turns the switch off if the input voltage is too low. The TPS22929D is packaged in a small, space-saving 6-pin SOT23 package and is rated to operate from –40°C to 85°C under free-air conditions.
