February 22, 2024 - Cirrus Logic recently announced cooperation with Intel and Microsoft on a new PC reference design. The design will feature Cirrus Logic's high-performance audio and power technology and Intel's upcoming client processors codenamed Lunar Lake. In addition to creating a richer, more immersive audio experience for laptops, the collaboration will reduce heat generation, extend battery life, and enable smaller, thinner and lighter designs.

This reference design uses Cirrus Logic's CP9314 high-efficiency power converter, low-power CS42L43 SmartHIFI™ audio codec and CS35L56 smart audio amplifier. Cirrus Logic's CP9314 high-efficiency power converter is based on switched capacitor technology, which helps reduce heat generation, extend battery life, and enable smaller, thinner industrial designs with low fan noise. In addition, the smart audio amplifier delivers powerful and clear speaker audio, while the audio codec enables transparent headphone audio with 50% lower power consumption compared to the traditional HD-A codec.
